Made by H猫ctor Torrents, Daniela Alva, Lucia Garrido and Carolina Anguera. OIL'S ENERGY:  Oil or petroleum is a naturally ocurring yellowish-black liquid found in the beneath of the Earth's surface. Oil can be refined into fuel. It is a fossil fuel, this means that it has been created by the descomposition of organic matter over millions of years.                                   IS OIL A PRIMARY OR A SECUNDARY ENERGY? Oil is a primary energy, this means that oil is an energy found in nature that has not been subjected to any human engineered conversion procisess.     IS OIL A RENEWABLE OR A NOT RENEWABLE ENERGY? IS IT A TRADITIONAL OR ALTERNATIVE ENERGY?? Oil is a not renewable energy, that means that oil, is an energy sorce founded in non-natural companies in limited quantities, in which, once consumed in its entirety, it cannot be easily replaced, since there is no economically viable production or extraction system. And it's a traditional energy, this means that oil is

THERMAL POWER PLANT

Imagen
A  thermal power plant  is a  power plant  where  steam  is used to drive a  steam turbine . This turbine is connected to an electrical generator. After this, the water is  condensed , and may be used again. This is known as the Rankine cycle. There are different procedures that can be used to heat the water. Combined cycle gas power plants (or steam-gas turbine plants) : these com bine a gasn turbine and a traditional thermal plant to generate electricity. Unlike conventional thermal power plants, the residual energy of the gases is used for another cycle. This is one of the reasons for which these kind of plants are more efficient (by 56%), also meaning that they produce lower CO 2  emissions than conventional plants. Initially, gas is injected into the combustion turbine. It generates steam, which is then supplied to another turbine. The combustion turbine and steam turbine work in tandem to turn one or more alternators, which produce electricity.

GREENHOUSE EFFECT AND ACID RAIN

Imagen
GREENHOUSE EFFECT: The greenhouse effect is a natural phenomenon through which Earth preservis its heat. It is caused by water vapor and certain other atmospheric gasos called greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, methane, CFC, and Nitric s'oxidi, keep part of the heat emitted by Earth from escaping into space. When these gasos increase in concentration they direct more infrared rays toward the ground and Amplify the warming of the planet. Because of certain human activities, increasing quantities of greenhouse gases are being emitted into the atmosphere. Motor vehicles and factories that burn fossil fuels emit carb贸 dioxide. The natural greenhouse effect is essential to life on Earth, because it heats the lower atmosphere to an average of 15 degrees Celsius. But when it increases, it can have serious effects on the climate, aix铆 climate change.
